Executive Summary: Intensive training for high-end video production, post, and distribution. Industry recognized certifications including Adobe, Metadata and RED Camera.

Background: For the past 17 years, our team of video production specialists has traveled the world shooting high quality video footage of some of the most incredible places on earth. In the last 24 months alone, we have created breathtaking material from some of the highest peaks of the Everest region to the shores of the Dead Sea in Israel, marking the lowest place on earth. Our award-winning team has received many Telly awards and recognition from National Geographic, Daytime Emmy, Aurora, and various others. Our clients include Adobe, Novell, BBC, PBS, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, and various filmmakers throughout the world. We maintain a facility near Salt Lake City, Utah with a 30’ x 30’ sound stage green-screen studio powered with several hundred thousand dollars of lights and camera equipment.

Training: There is a great need for properly produced online video. The purpose of our training is to help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to shoot properly composed and exposed videos using various camera workflows and techniques, and produce high-quality, broadcast-ready video, free of common technical problems, color-graded according to broadcast spec, and compressed with the correct codec, frame-rate, and resolution for various video distribution channels.

The skills necessary to produce video properly are not easy to come by despite there being many online tutorials for Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. Our intent is not to show students how to use these programs, but instead show students how to recognize and address various forms of technical repair. Some of the problems which we demonstrate solutions for include: aliasing, moire, flickr, dust, stabilization, banding, compression artifacts, noise, etc. These are common problems with not a lot of online information for.

We also discuss in depth how to use digital asset management systems and online aggregators to combine videos with accurate and optimized metadata to maximize viewership and optional monetization.

Creative Media Education holds ongoing training and certification classes. Guest speakers will include various multimedia professionals.
